More people means there are less points to go around. There were only 19 participants in the last RAC, this time we had 30. That's 11 more people looking for votes. It's not a statement on how your song was this time compared to last time. It's just how your entry did when compared to others this year.
I am so happy to have gotten fourth in this! There are 30 contestants and the genre I write isn't that popular, so to have gotten fourth is just amazing!
What I don't understand is how Scotland beat me...

Queston: How do the block scores work? Are they just the averages or what?
Also, not that I'm complaining because I got 3rd, but why didn't I get any points for instrumentation when I used a native instrument?
Native doesn't count in the instrument judging, however it does in the Representation, which is why you got such high marks.
Instrumentation is more about if the instruments chosen match well with the style and other instruments.
