Rules

All rules must be followed by all participants. The seriousess of the rulebreak depends on how the situation is dealt, you could be thrown out of the contest altogether (and banned from future events) or Judges could refuse to mark a certain area of your piece. Despite this, all participants must take each and every single rule seriously.

1. The Submissions are allowed to be of any Music Genre, the broader the spectrum the better.
2. The entering song is not allowed to be a cover version or remix and is not allowed to sample another artist's work.
3. The minimum Time limit of the song is 2:30 (minutes) the maximum length of the track is 4:00 (minutes)
4. There may not be more than one act for each country, if the country you want to represent is taken by another artists you must either choose another country or PM the occupying artists, offering to collaberate. Both artists must confirm the collaberation before the later artists application is accepted.
6. All tracks must be in by June 19th, prefferably submitted before. If you have to delay your track a few days you must tell me before that date. The first 5 submitters will have the opportunity to choose their place in the running order.

The Scoring Process

On the final night a slideshow will be shown where points are given for each category, the points given will be; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12.

The judges score each piece in the main categories out of 10, all the scores are then added and the highest scores allocated the points above.

The Categories

Representation: The way your piece reflects the country, whether it's the choice of structure, instrumentation or musical style. The easiest way to gain points here is through lyrics and the choice of instrumentation.

Originality: Arguably one of the most challenging categories. Does your piece use those dreaded cliché chords? You have no chance here. Originality means that your piece stands out from the rest and offers a new taste to the Judges pallette.
Instrumentation: How well does your instrumentation fit together, is it layered well? Is it suitable for your style?

Musicality: Harmonies and melodies are catchy and sucessful. Chords match with all notes and there is nothing out of place.

Entertainment: Although opinonated, it would be pretty unfair to judge a music contest without scoring the entertainment value. Make sure your piece isn't long winded and an that parts change before the listener gets bored.

These judge scores are then totalled up and then artists are appointed the correct points.

Exterior Points
Judges are not the only people who determine the outcome of the contest. New for RAC 4, all participants will be seperated into blocks of 5 (People in their running order area). Each participant will be invited to select and rank their top 5 entries of the contest, they will not be allowed to list anyone for their block in the votes. Each block is then totalled and the points allocated, just like the Judges categories. There is also chance for participants to win further points by bringing support to the broadcast and having the most viewer votes.

Overview

Represent a Country is a series of Audio contests on Newgrounds hosted by myself. The aim of the contest is for each participant to represent a country of their choice and submit an original and entertaining piece of music. Participants who take part in the contest go on to become well known across the Audio part of Newgrounds, artists such as LK412 and Chungstarr have gone on to develop further sucess after taking part in the contest. The contest has not only become a celebration of world culture, but has also become a huge celebration of the audio portal artists. The contest is open to anyone in the audio forum, whether it's newcomers, well known Newground artists or the contests own veteran artists.

The fourth contest is due to start, with a new site being introduced to the formula. People from Newgrounds will be able to sign up from the 22nd of May. This contest will be the first to incorporate another site, The Audio Portal. Members of this site will be able to signup on the 15th of May. RAC 3 participants will be able to sign up now.

Well, this is the current project I'm working on, a few audio friends and awesome people are getting invovled with this and I'd love a few more people, so just hit me with a PM if you're interested in taking part.

The project is a various artists album which provides Electronic covers of Recent Top chart music, in a similar way to the style of Exit Trance in Japan. Every artist is assigned a track through a lottery system and they make a remix of that track in their own unique style. The album will be collected together and posted as a rar file in the Audio forum. Artists may also feel free to post their tracks to the audio portal once the album has been released.

Even though I was never officially gone, I've decided to come back.
Well, I've spent the last few months making songs (even just thinking) that have never reached here as I've not felt comfortable with the wat they sounded. Now I'm getting used to creating the right sound again and I'm hoping to post music regularly. I've also strayed away from the forums (I was never really a reg in the first place) but hope to become a regular.

Lets just say that the album I planned about two years ago probably won't happen now, instead of focusing on that and never releasing tracks I'll just churn out great tracks, put them here. Then Improve or change them and compile them together. :3

I'm working on a collab at the minute and I'm finishing off a remix of a track originally by Airprogressive. I'm always willing to do remixes, so just get in touch with me if you'd like a remix of your track.

Also, I'm pulling a few friends together to create a compilation album, it will be available entirely free in the forums and probably from participating artists newsblogs. The album will be 'EDM Commercial Covers' Electronic dance mixes of recent chart topping music. The style will be similar to that of the Exit Trance albums, all the way from Japan. Once again, if you'd like to take part in this, just drop me a line.

The style of my music over the last month has changed dramatically. It's still electronic, but it strays away from the typical Hands up I used to create. Think Lady Gaga, but more ravey.
Anyway, I've completely changed the way my basslines sound and I've introduced some more synths of which sound more... cultured?

Ayway... the single will be available to purchase soon, I promise it won't be too expensive too!

The Show is going to start at 5pm EST, if you don't live in that timezone you may need to check what time it will be where you live. Veiwers will have the chance to vote and instructions on how to do so will be given on the night. The running order for artists will be chosen at random and artists will only be entered for the draw if they have already submitted their track.

The Contest will take place at Radiogrounds, simply click on one of the server buttons at the side of 'Tune in Now'. Also make sure you join the chat (Click 'Chat') for show discussion and fun stuff. You will need an IRC Client to join the chat.

1) Collaberation piece with ShootingStar The song is going to be called "Journey To The 90's" the lyrics written by yours truly. Shooting star will write the music and then we'll get to work on producing it and getting it all together. Ultra Excited about this Project.

2) "Evacuate The Dancefloor" being sorely disapointed by Cascada's comeback track (and how they seem to have sold out for the popular style) I'm reworking the track to how it should have been done along with giving it that NeonProject Touch. This one is almost complete, so you can expect to hear this soon.

3) "Destiny's Play". After purchasing three albums (Exit Trance Presents: Tokusatsu 1, 2 +3) filled with tokusatsu track covers, I decided to make a toku cover myself. The song is "Destiny's Play" by Tetra-Fang which is featured in "Kamen Rider Kiva". The song is entirely in Japanese, so this will bode a challenge, but I'm willing to accept.

4) RAC 3. The huge contest (Represent A Country) will make it's return next month with a few changes to the formula. In my eyes the RAC contest is Newgrounds answer to the Eurovision Song Contest (Only without the cheese and drag).
